Today is the final day for grant applications to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)’s Bridge Investment Program for funding to repair aging bridge infrastructure around the nation.

“For too long, essential infrastructure has been held hostage by red tape delaying improvements that move traffic,” said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. “The Department is clearing the path for states to rebuild aging bridges faster and more efficiently. We are putting the focus back where it belongs: safety, reliability, and getting Americans home to their families.”
The House Rules Committee, chaired by Representative Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, is meeting today to consider the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, and the Removing Barriers to Work for Disabled Americans Act,

- Counting Blessings
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. – Psalm 33:12
The old hymn goes, “Count your blessings, name them one by one, count your blessings, see what God has done.” How are you at identifying the blessings He has given you? What do you perceive as blessings from God? Modern people of faith might define blessings as having a good marriage, obedient children, a successful career, health, and a vibrant ministry. However, a search of the Bible offers another perspective.
The New Testament makes around 112 references to “blessing.” The Greek word means “fully satisfied.” Matthew records Christ describing the blessed as “the poor in spirit… those who mourn… those who are persecuted for righteousness sake… and those enduring times of being reviled because of His name” (Matthew 5:3-4, 10-11). Paul quotes a psalm when writing to the Romans, “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven” (Psalm 32:1; Romans 4:7). And James wrote, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial” (James 1:12). Clearly, God’s blessings are much broader than having a comfortable life.
Blessing from God means to be “fully satisfied” in Him! The circumstances in your life that are drawing you closer to the Lord and deepening your trust in Him are actually your blessings! As you pray for God’s blessing upon this nation, recognize that challenges may arise to prompt people to turn to Him for help. Ask that many come to find their hope in God and that those in positions of authority view challenges on the horizon as opportunities for the Lord’s intervention.

how he has brought desolations on the earth.
