President Donald Trump will attend the FIFA World Cup Draw today at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the president sees next year’s sporting event as a “priority national project,” as the World Cup will occur simultaneously with celebrations of the United States’ 250th anniversary next summer.
President Trump has been involved in the planning of the World Cup, having established a task force back in March for the event, which will be held in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The president suggested swapping out American cities that are not cooperating with immigration and criminal law enforcement “if somebody is doing a bad job and if I feel there’s unsafe conditions.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Secret Service agents to be aware and vigilant as they protect President Trump and other dignitaries.
- For wisdom for President Trump as he engages in the World Cup planning.
- For the president and members of the task force as they seek to ensure the safety of the cities that will host the games next year.

- Do Not Fear
Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. – Luke 2:10
There were some men out in the fields that night, minding their business, which was sheep. Then a bright light shone in the sky, and an angel appeared. The first thing the angel said to them was, “Don’t be afraid.” The shepherds may have been thinking, ” That’s easy for you to say!” The angel announced Christ’s birth and where He was located. A heavenly choir then appeared, singing, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” (Luke 2:14). Can you imagine that dark, quiet field being transformed into bright light and singing? Wow!
A manger in Bethlehem was the only clue the angels gave the shepherds to His whereabouts. Did they scurry from manger to manger until they found the holy family? What excitement when they found them! Fear was far from their minds now. God had chosen to reveal to them the good news about the birth of the Savior, Christ the Lord, which they undoubtedly had heard about from prophecies beforehand.
Later, when Jesus ascended from the earth, and the disciples stood there with mouths agape, an angel came and asked them why they were just standing there gazing. Why indeed! The angel announced the return of Christ (Acts 1:11). As people go about their varied business, just as the shepherds’ reality changed in an instant, one day, modern life will change, too. Be encouraged and confident, and fear not! Though the nation may go through tough times, God is sovereign, and He loves and cares for His people. Pray for the nation’s governing officials and citizens to prepare for Jesus’ return.
Today’s Verse: Luke 2:10
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
1 Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. 2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. 7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. 8 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 9 For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. 11 Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
