Happy Father’s Day, from all of us at The Presidential Prayer Team!

President Donald Trump is at Camp David in Maryland. Members of his family are celebrating the national recognition of fathers with him at the presidential retreat.
“America’s fathers are the custodians of our strength, the leaders of our families, and the protectors of our security and safety,“ President Trump stated last year. He added that his administration “pays tribute to every father whose fierce love, heroic devotion, and inspiring example are molding the next generation.“
“The presence of a father also serves to plant the seeds of virtue and instill American values in their children. For many, dads are the first to teach the value of hard work, love of country, and the importance of living with conviction. With every generation, these lessons are carried forth,“ the president continued. “We celebrate the invaluable role our fathers play in shaping our families, guiding our communities, and strengthening our country — and we offer our unending thanks for their leadership, selflessness, and inspiration.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Lord to bless fathers around the country with strength, wisdom, and courage.
- For President Trump to seek God’s direction as he sets administration policies regarding fathers, families, and children.
- For the federal, state, and local officials across the nation take actions that strengthen the family.
- For God to be glorified for the grace His had shown this nation over its semiquincentennial history.

- Turn Around
Repent, therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. – Acts 3:19-20
If someone asked which way you are facing, would you answer with a point on the compass? Perhaps you are more of a creative soul and would respond in relation to an observable reference point. On this day honoring Fathers, many are facing the past. Some may be reclaiming cherished memories while others wish they could undo heartbreaking circumstances. In either case, the only thing you can change about the past is your orientation to it!
Repentance in the Bible is a similar concept. It means to turn, go in a different direction, and change how you orient your life. This is a pivot, a spin in the present, not moving backward in time. Repentance means to turn toward the Lord after being away from Him, to acknowledge the reality of your actions or attitudes, and how far they are from His righteousness.
Though repentance may sound daunting, those willing to draw near to the Father of all creation make a wonderful discovery. Unlike earthly fathers who have limited resources, your Heavenly Father has provided a completely sufficient and sovereign solution to your sin through His Son. Repentance and forgiveness are eternally linked. The repentant sinner finds God’s forgiveness, and His forgiveness ushers one towards full repentance.
A refreshing new season is possible, for both you and this nation. It starts with repentance, turning toward God, and trusting Him for forgiveness and restoration. Make a turn in your life and pray for decision-makers in the United States to do the same, to bring health and healing to the land.
Today’s Verse: Acts 3:19-20
Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,

20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. 23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.
