President Donald Trump is in Nevada speaking at the Hope for Prisoners Graduation Ceremony at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department today. Hope for Prisoners offers various training programs for those who have been incarcerated to increase their viability in the job market and aid in reintegration to society.
President Trump has made criminal justice reform a priority and in recent days pardoned or commuted the sentences of eleven individuals. Early in his administration, the president signed the Formerly Incarcerated Reenter Society Transformed Safely Transitioning Every Person Act (First Step Act) to aid in the reform of the U.S. federal prison system, and reduce recidivism.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the president as he continues to work to better the lives of those who have been convicted of a crime.
- For those who work alongside the administration in reintegrating former prisoners.
- That the Lord would be glorified in the actions taken for prison reform.
