Late on Saturday, President Donald Trump released a public statement saying, “It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight.” The president continued, “He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.”
Robert S. Trump was 71 years of age.
The president and first family were planning to stay in Bedminster, New Jersey, for the weekend, but following the announcement, their schedule is subject to change. They are expected to remain in New York and the surrounding area in order to spend this time with the rest of the Trump family.
