The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will hold a public roundtable titled “Know Your Custodian: Key Considerations for Crypto Custody” on April 25 at its Washington, D.C. headquarters. Organized by the SEC’s Crypto Task Force, the event intends to address custody-related challenges as the agency works to incorporate crypto assets into its regulatory framework.
“It is important for the SEC to grapple with custody issues, which are some of the most challenging as we seek to integrate crypto assets into our regulatory structure,” said Commissioner Hester Peirce, leader of the Crypto Task Force. “We look forward to hearing from experts on these important issues.”
The roundtable will be accessible in person and online. Two panel sessions will cover custody through broker-dealers and investment advisers, featuring representatives from financial firms.
