Issue 694 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

Marine Corps F-35 and Air Force F-22 pilots engaged in a four-day joint training simulation for the first time last month at the Navy’s Joint Simulation Environment in Maryland to increase interservice fighter integration. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Commander Rear Admiral John Dougherty IV stated that the training is a milestone “that ushers in a new era of interoperability for aviation’s combat community.”

Pray for the military leaders and commanders as they seek to improve the combat readiness of the U.S. Armed Forces. Pray that the Lord would watch over U.S. military personnel deployed across the globe.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that his army captured two Chinese nationals fighting in the Russian army. The Ukrainian state railway system announced that it has restored approximately half of its IT services after a cyber attack last month. Russia mostly succeeded in driving Ukraine out of Kursk last month after weeks of obstructing Ukraine’s supply line.

Pray for President Trump and officials in his administration as they pursue a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to eliminate the trade deficit with the United States after meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House earlier this week. The Israeli leader said, “We’re going to also eliminate trade barriers. Israel can serve as a model for many countries who ought to do the same.”

Pray for President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu as they seek to strengthen trade and seek options to end conflicts in the Middle East.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention promoted information on symptoms and prevention of measles. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. recently visited Texas, where measles has steadily spread, meeting with state and local health officials. This week, HHS reported 642 confirmed cases of measles across 22 states, with roughly 500 of them occurring in Texas. Two children have died from measles since the outbreak.

Pray for Secretary Kennedy and CDC officials as they track the outbreak and seek to inform the public about safeguards.

Pray for Needs Across the States

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham declared a state of emergency in Albuquerque due to crime. In response to the police chief’s request last month, up to 70 of the state’s National Guard personnel will be trained to partner with the city’s law enforcement to address juvenile crime and the fentanyl crisis starting in mid-May.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed a bill to ban fluoride from the drinking water system. It also authorizes people to obtain fluoride tablets from pharmacies without a prescription, providing an option for those who want to continue to use the mineral. Florida, Nebraska, and Arkansas are also considering the removal of fluoride from water systems.

Pray for state officials as they assess and respond to concerns and crime in their jurisdictions.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Do you have people in your life who only talk to you when they want something? These one-sided relationships can lead to us feeling used and manipulated. Yet that is exactly what many of us do to God when we only approach Him in prayer with a need or desire. We give Him our laundry lists of prayer requests without seeking a relationship with Him, spending time praising Him, or thanking Him for our many blessings. We pray for future events without acknowledging His help in the past. Our forgetfulness is an indication of our ingratitude toward God and it renders our prayers ineffective. Yet none of this shocks God. God knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows we are a forgetful people.
God wants to see prayers that are filled with genuine praise and thanksgiving for what He has done in the past. He wants our hearts to be filled with awe and gratitude for His blessings. He wants us to set up memorials in our hearts testifying to the provisions He has given us. … God answers our prayers to strengthen our faith in Him, to help us trust in His Word, to glorify Himself, and to express His love for us.“– Dr. Michael Youssef, Leading the Way
