“Told Ya So”

Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?  – John 11:40

Do you remember as a kid when you had secret intel and shared it with your crew? As it came to pass, it felt pretty great to crow “I told you so!”  Jesus was not gloating when He reminded His worried friend, Martha, that her faith was a key ingredient to understanding what was going on around her.

Miracles were happening, and she had a place in what Jesus was doing. She was chosen to be a witness. She could testify first hand that her brother Lazarus was raised to life out of his tomb. She knew without a shadow of a doubt he was really dead, four days to be exact. Then Jesus called his name and he was alive again.  People could say she was crazy, but she knew it was true.

Could God be preparing you to be a witness of His miraculous work? Consider for a moment the greatest struggle in your life. It’s hard to see past the pain, but within that difficulty could lie the seeds of a great blessing from God.

Will you be a victim of circumstance or a witness of glory? Yes, both involve dark days but Jesus has already told you, if you will believe in God’s mercy and power you WILL see Him work.

Pray for leaders in America to find faith in Christ. Ask that many will see His blessing and be faithful witnesses to it. Consider your place in what God is doing today. Like Martha, tell the story of His glory and what you see Him do.

Today’s Verse: John 11:40

Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”

7 everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
    whom I formed and made.”
Bring out the people who are blind, yet have eyes,
who are deaf, yet have ears!
All the nations gather together,
    and the peoples assemble.
Who among them can declare this,
and show us the former things?
Let them bring their witnesses to prove them right,
and let them hear and say, It is true.
10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor shall there be any after me.
11 I, I am the Lord,
and besides me there is no savior.
