House Committees Work on President’s Agenda

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, chaired by Representative James Comer of Kentucky, is considering bills on reorganizing the government, preserving the president’s management authority, and immigration compliance for the District of Columbia.

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, is marking up several bills addressing firearms and law enforcement today.

Several House subcommittees are holding hearings and legislative markups on topics including lifesaving care for veterans, trade negotiations, the reliability of the regional power grids, and public safety and security at the Capitol Complex.

Senate subcommittees are holding hearings on the state of surface shipbuilding, artificial intelligence cyber capabilities, the Defense Department’s strategy to counter unmanned aerial systems, and President Trump’s nomination of Frank Bisignano to be commissioner of the Social Security Administration.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for the chairs and members of the congressional committees and subcommittees.
  • For President Trump to seek the Lord as he appoints individuals to federal government positions.
  • For members of the Senate as they conduct confirmation hearings for the president’s nominees.
