DHS Secretary Announces Border Wall Expansion

The president is picking up on the pledge to build the wall from his first term.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced that President Donald Trump’s administration is continuing the construction of a federal border wall across the U.S.-Mexico border, a pledge from President Trump’s first term in office.

“As of today, we’re starting seven new miles of construction,” Secretary Noem said from the location in Arizona where the border wall ends. “We’re going to continue to make America safe again.”

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) just awarded a similar construction contract to Granite Construction Co. on Saturday for seven miles of border wall in Hidalgo County, Texas. This first new border wall contract of President Trump’s second term will pay over $70 million for the construction in the Rio Grande Valley sector.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Noem to be prudent as she heads the Department of Homeland Security.
  • For President Trump and officials in his administration as they implement border security measures.
