The region recently experienced severe storms, flooding, and mudslides.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the availability of Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) to residents in parts of Kentucky and West Virginia impacted by recent severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides and mudslides. The program helps households that wouldn’t normally qualify for SNAP but meet disaster-related criteria.
“USDA is dedicated to helping individuals and families… as they grapple with the aftermath of recent storms and flooding,” said USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins. “We are expediting disaster assistance programs and working closely with state and local partners to provide support to impacted individuals as quickly as possible.”
Applications for West Virginia residents will be available from March 17 through 21, 2025. The application window for Kentucky has closed.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Rollins to seek God’s guidance as she manages the Department of Agriculture.
- For USDA officials as they seek to support residents impacted by severe weather and its aftermath.
