Public discussions seek to define security status and build a clearer crypto framework.
The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Crypto Task Force will host a series of public roundtables, beginning March 21, to discuss crypto asset regulation. The first event, titled “How We Got Here and How We Get Out – Defining Security Status,” will be held at the SEC’s Washington, D.C. headquarters and streamed live on the commission’s website.
“I am looking forward to drawing on the expertise of the public in developing a workable regulatory framework for crypto,” said Commissioner Hester Peirce, who is leading the Crypto Task Force. “The roundtables are an important part of our engagement with the public.”
Established by Acting SEC Chairman Mark Uyeda in January, the task force intends to clarify regulatory boundaries, create feasible registration processes, and guide enforcement efforts. The public can also request meetings or submit feedback to contribute to the ongoing regulatory discussions.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Acting Chair Uyeda to receive God’s direction as he oversees the SEC.
- For Commissioner Peirce as she heads the Crypto Task Force in gathering information and input on the sector.
