Iran expresses openness to negotiations if the discussion is focused on militarization.
Iran has indicated willingness to negotiate with the United States after President Donald Trump sent a letter to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The president is looking for a new deal to limit Iran’s advancing nuclear program, replacing the agreement he withdrew the U.S. from during his first term.
Supreme Leader Khamenei rejected the proposed talks between the nations, saying that the United States would likely aim to impose additional restrictions on Iran’s missile program.
The following day Iranian U.N. Mission stated, “If the objective of negotiations is to address concerns vis-à-vis any potential militarization of Iran’s nuclear program, such discussions may be subject to consideration.”
“There are two ways Iran can be handled: militarily, or you make a deal,” President Trump said recently. “I would rather negotiate a deal.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to receive God’s direction as he seeks a nuclear deal with Iran.
- For wisdom for the president and U.S. officials as they work to attain peace with hostile nations.
