The previous administration had brought lawsuits against departments using standard aptitude tests.
Attorney General Pam Bondi instructed the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice to dismiss lawsuits the previous administration had filed against the hiring policies for police officers and firefights of jurisdictions around the nation. The departments used standard aptitude tests to screen their candidates.
“American communities deserve firefighters and police officers to be chosen for their skill and dedication to public safety – not to meet DEI quotas,” said Attorney General Bondi.
The Justice Department stated, “Despite no evidence of intentional discrimination — only statistical disparities — the prior administration branded the aptitude tests at issue in these cases as discriminatory in an effort to advance a DEI agenda.“
The department added, “President Trump and Attorney General Bondi are dedicated to ending illegal discrimination and restoring merit-based opportunity nationwide, and in all sectors.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Attorney General Bondi to be discerning as she heads the Department of Justice.
- For wisdom for DOJ officials as they review the outstanding cases filed by the prior administration
