Secretary Noem, Attorney General Bondi, and other federal officials will hold the errant employees accountable.
Employees within the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other agencies have leaked information on Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids. Operations in Aurora, Colorado, and Los Angeles, California, failed after federal employees tipped members of the media.
DHS Secretary Noem said, “They will be fired, there will be consequences. And remember, when they leak information to the press in order to blow an Op, they are putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy. They are risking their lives and putting their families in the position where they have to live without those individuals any further. So, you bet, we have used every tactic that we have.“
An FBI spokesperson said, “The FBI safeguards Constitutionally-protected rights, including freedom of speech and assembly. However, any individual who impedes law enforcement operations, potentially threatening the safety of law enforcement agents and subjects of their investigations, is subject to investigation and potential prosecution by the Department of Justice.”
Border czar Tom Homan reported that some of the leaks have come from within the FBI. He said, “I talked to the deputy attorney general… They’ve opened up a criminal investigation.“
