Due to the sensitive nature of the information, the department and agency heads will coordinate responses.
Government employees received a human resource email from the Office of Personnel Management requesting five bullet points of what they accomplished last week. The email stated this was “part of the Trump Administration’s commitment to an efficient and accountable federal workforce,“ and that “agencies will determine any next steps.“
The heads of national security agencies and departments that handle sensitive information, such as the Departments of Defense and State, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, sent instructions to employees not to respond directly to the email but that they would conduct reviews and provide a response to federal human resources.
The State Department said, “No employee is obligated to report their activities outside their Department chain of command.“
The Defense Department stated that it “is responsible for reviewing the performance of its personnel and it will conduct any review in accordance with its own procedures. When and if required, the department will coordinate responses to the email you have received from OPM.“
Elon Musk indicated the email is intended to ensure that actual employees of the federal government are being compensated and to prevent fraud. He stated that a “large number of good responses“ have been received and that the respondents “should be considered for promotion.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for DOGE and OPM officials as they seek to ensure everyone with a government email receiving compensation is an actual employee.
- For the heads of national security agencies and departments as they conduct reviews and coordinate responses to federal HR.
