Today, President Donald Trump is back at the White House in Washington, D.C. He is monitoring the progress of discussions regarding peace between Russia and Ukraine. The president indicated he could possibly meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin this month.

The Senator Health Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, chaired by Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, is holding a confirmation hearing for the president’s nominee for Education Secretary, Linda McMahon.

The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, chaired by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, is holding a hearing on the president’s nomination of Steven Bradbury for Deputy Secretary of Transportation.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, chaired by Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, is holding confirmation hearings for Troy Edgar as Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security and James Bishop as Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

The Senate Armed Services Committee, chaired by Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, is meeting for a closed briefing on the USS Gravely and operations in the Red Sea before they hold a hearing for Stephen Feinberg to be Deputy Secretary of Defense.

The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, is considering legislation to reschedule fentanyl and then holding a business meeting to consider the nominations of Todd Blanche to be Deputy Attorney General, and Abigail Slater to be an Assistant Attorney General.
