Secretary Hegseth Outlines Priorities in the Pentagon

The focus is on homeland defense, warfighting, and eliminating wasteful spending.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth outlined key defense priorities this week, including modernizing the U.S. nuclear triad and developing an iron dome defense system similar to Israel’s. These initiatives will be reflected in the upcoming 2026 defense budget. The defense secretary also highlighted the importance of financial transparency at the Department of Defense, committing to improving auditing practices and cutting waste.

“American taxpayers deserve to know exactly how and where their money is spent,” said Secretary Hegseth. “We need to know when we spend dollars; we need to know where they’re going and why.”

To assist with these efforts, the department will collaborate with the U.S. DOGE Service to streamline acquisitions and enhance fiscal oversight.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Hegseth as he participates in the NATO ministerial meeting in Belgium.
  • For U.S. military officials to be discerning as they seek to deter China from increasing tensions in the Indo-Pacific.
