OMB Director Announces Halt of Unappropriated Funds to CFPB

Newly confirmed, Director Vought is set to be an important contributor to reducing federal programs and spending.

White House Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought announced over the weekend that all unappropriated funds would be halted to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Director Vought, who is serving as acting director of CFPB, also instructed staffers in the bureau to “cease all supervision and examination activity.“

“The Bureau’s current balance of $711.6 million is in fact excessive in the current fiscal environment. This spigot, long contributing to CFPB’s unaccountability, is now being turned off,” Director Vought said.

He further ordered that all stakeholder engagement cease, that no public communications be issued, and that all enforcement actions be paused. No final rules or guidance are to be approved or issued.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Vought to be led by the Lord as he seeks to rein in the spending under his jurisdiction.
  • For wisdom for President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to eliminate the waste of taxpayer money.
