Preexisting U.S. Digital Service was renamed U.S. DOGE Service.
President Donald Trump signed the executive order implementing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) after his inauguration but authorized it in a different way than anticipated. The order does not establish DOGE as a federal department or an advisory panel, instead renaming and reshaping a preexisting White House office with a modified mission statement.
The former U.S. Digital Service, a team of tech consultants in the White House originally tasked with aiding the design and management of HealthCare.gov in 2013, has been transformed into the “United States DOGE Service.” The executive order says that the office’s purpose will be to “implement the President’s DOGE Agenda, by modernizing Federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump as he implements changes and sets forth policies.
- For members of the Senate as they consider the president’s nominees for confirmation.
