Federal Agencies Hold Agriculture Recovery Fairs in North Carolina

Agency officials seek to support the recovery from Hurricane Helene’s devastation.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that, in a joint effort with the Departments of Agriculture and State, agriculture fairs are being held in North Carolina to assist farmers and producers in recovering from the damage of Hurricane Helene.

These events provide farmers, ranchers, nursery owners, vineyard operators, honeybee growers, and fish producers with tailored assistance beyond standard FEMA and state programs. Officials stated that documentation such as ownership records, photos of damaged equipment, and estimated replacement costs helps to streamline recovery applications.

The U.S. Small Business Administration and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture will also participate in offering guidance on recovery resources. Events have already been held in McDowell and Henderson Counties. Fairs are scheduled for Buncombe County on January 30 and Watauga County on January 31. Additional locations are planned for Ashe, Avery, Burke, Mitchell, and Yancey counties.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the officials of FEMA, USDA, SBA, and the State Department of be led by the Lord as they provide agriculture recovery assistance.
  • For state and local leaders in North Carolina as they continue to head recovery and rebuilding efforts.
  • That God would comfort and provide for those who lost loved ones, homes, businesses, and livestock to the hurricane.
