Israeli prime minister expresses gratitude over the move.
President Donald Trump announced he is ensuring Israel will receive the 2000-pound bombs that they purchased from the U.S. Former President Biden placed a hold on the shipment citing concerns over the effect they would have on civilians in Gaza.
The president stated, “A lot of things that were ordered and paid for by Israel, but have not been sent by Biden, are now on their way!”
On Saturday, President Trump said of the bombs being sent, “We released them. We released them today. And they’ll have them. They paid for them and they’ve been waiting for them for a long time. They’ve been in storage.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “Thank you President Trump for keeping your promise to give Israel the tools it needs to defend itself, to confront our common enemies and to secure a future of peace and prosperity.”
