The former head of Texas border patrol, a Navy veteran, and former member of U.S. Border Patrol.
President Donald Trump appointed former border chief of Texas, former U.S. Border Patrol agent, and Navy veteran Mike Banks as the head of U.S. Border Patrol.
“We found the right person for the job in Mike Banks,” Governor Abbott stated in 2023. “Mike Banks is an award-winning Border Patrol agent. He has held important Border Patrol leadership positions for more than 20 years, serving under four presidents.”
At the time, Banks said, “Protecting our nation’s border is something I have dedicated the last 23 years of my life to, and I am very passionate about it.”
Banks said of the progress on border security in Texas, “We’ve worked hard to deter illegal immigration.” He continued, “Illegal immigration has decreased in Texas by 85%.”
The previous Border Patrol Chief, Jason Owens announced his retirement just before President Trump’s second inauguration.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Chief Banks to receive God’s guidance as he heads the U.S. Border Patrol.
- For the president and officials in his administration as they seek to ensure federal immigration laws are upheld.
