House Speaker Removes House Intelligence Committee Chair

Some legislators questioned the move.

House Speaker Mike Johnson removed Representative Mike Turner of Ohio as chair of the House Intelligence Committee this past week. The committee oversees the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency. Some federal legislatures questioned Congressman Turner’s removal.

However, responding to claims that he made the move at President-elect Trump’s behest, Speaker Johnson said, “This is not a President Trump decision, this is a House decision and this is no slight whatsoever to our outgoing chairman, he did a great job, but we just, the Intelligence Community and everything related to HPSCI is, it needs a fresh start and that’s what this is about, nothing else.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Speaker Johnson to be led by the Lord as he oversees the business of the House of Representatives.
  • For the chairs of the House committees to be discerning as they preside over hearings and meetings.
