House Passes Legislation Sanctioning ICC Officials for Israel Arrest Warrants

Bipartisan support helps to pass the measure.

The House of Representatives passed legislation late last week to sanction officials of the International Criminal Court (ICC), offering America’s response to the court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the former defense minister.

The motion filed by the ICC alleges that Israel’s crimes against civilians in Gaza warrant such a response. However, a bipartisan majority of House legislators maintain that Israel’s actions are necessary to return the 250 hostages seized by the terrorist group Hamas during its attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

“The ICC has set a precedent for criminalizing self-defense: any country daring to defend itself against an enemy that exploits civilians as human shields will face persecution posing as prosecution,” Representative Ritchie Torres of New York stated ahead of the House’s vote.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for members of the House and Senate as they consider and pass legislation addressing international incidents and situations.
  • For the House Speaker and Senate Majority Leader to seek the Lord’s guidance as they preside over their respective chambers.
