Secret Service Fires on Suspects Outside Treasury Secretary’s Home

District of Columbia police are investigating the incident.

The Secret Service fired on suspects who approached Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen’s home in the early morning hours on Tuesday. An agent saw a sedan park outside the secretary’s Washington, D.C., home, and multiple people attempted to open the car doors to exit the vehicle.

“As the sedan approached the agent, a confrontation occurred between the agent and the car’s occupants,” said Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi. “The agent discharged their service weapon, but there is currently no evidence to indicate anyone was struck.”

The D.C. police department has opened an investigation into the incident. No Secret Service agent was harmed.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secret Service agents as they protect current and former government officials.
  • With thanksgiving that neither the agent nor the secretary came to any harm.
