President Joe Biden is concluding his trip to Angola today. His goals for the visit were to enhance the role of the U.S. in trade, investment, and infrastructure in Africa, and strengthen the partnership of Angola in addressing global issues such as trade, security, and health.

Today, the justices of the Supreme Court will hear United States v. Skrmetti.

The Department of Justice filed a suit against the Tennessee attorney general over the law, passed by the state legislature and signed by the governor, that bans transgender medical interventions for minors.

The federal government argues that the state not allowing children and teens to receive puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and reassignment surgeries violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.

The Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a district court decision to grant an injunction to stop the law from going into effect.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president to be prudent about the commitments he makes for the U.S. as his term comes to a close.
  • For the justices of the Supreme Court as they hear the arguments regarding the right of states to protect children from irreversible transgender interventions.
  • For wisdom for Chief Justice Roberts as he heads the Supreme Court.
