Oh, magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together! – Psalm 34:3
You may use magnets to attach pictures of friends and family on the face or side of your refrigerator. Ladies’ purses often have magnetic closures. According to “Amazing Magnets,” the earliest known use of magnets was around 200 B.C. in China. Today, they are used “in MRI machines, electric motors for cars, speakers, and headphones, and even the International Space Station.”
Theologian David Guzik writes, “David knew there was something magnetic about the true praise of God. “There is a magnetic character when people of God assemble together to exalt the name of the Lord. In today’s verse, he is exhorting people to magnify and exalt the Lord together with one another. Thomas Hartwell Horne, an English theologian in the 18th century, wrote, “The Christian, not only himself magnifies God, but exhorts others to do likewise; and longs for that day to come, when all nations and languages, laying aside their contentions and animosities, their prejudices and their errors, their unbelief, their heresies, and their schisms, shall make their sound to be heard as one, in magnifying and exalting their great Redeemer’s name.”
Make a habit of regularly attending a faith-filled, Bible-believing and preaching congregation. Join with fellow worshipers in singing praise to the Lord. Listen to the messages of the songs you sing, particularly the ones centered on Jesus. Join with others in prayer. Let your soul experience the magnetism that occurs when believers participate together in worship. Rejoice and be thankful for all that the Lord has done and is doing among His people.

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
1 I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
