IRGC asset and two local operatives were behind an attempt to avenge the killing of Qassem Soleimani.
The Department of Justice announced that three men have been charged in an Iranian plot to murder now-President-elect Trump and others. One is residing in Tehran and not in custody, while the other two, who resided in the U.S., are being detained pending trial.
“There are few actors in the world that pose as grave a threat to the national security of the United States as does Iran,” said Attorney General Merrick Garland. “The Justice Department has charged an asset of the Iranian regime who was tasked by the regime to direct a network of criminal associates to further Iran’s assassination plots against its targets, including President-elect Donald Trump.“
He continued, “We have also charged and arrested two individuals who we allege were recruited as part of that network to silence and kill, on U.S. soil, an American journalist who has been a prominent critic of the regime. We will not stand for the Iranian regime’s attempts to endanger the American people and America’s national security.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Attorney General Garland and DOJ officials as they determine priorities in the remaining months of the current administration.
- For wisdom for President-elect Trump and his advisors as they determine who will be nominated to his Cabinet.
- For the protection of President Trump and his family.
