The Department of Homeland Security announced additional restrictions of goods imported from the People’s Republic of China, adding 29 companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List.
The Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF) reports that 107 entities are now on the UFPLA list as officials take action to eliminate the use of forced labor from the U.S. supply chain.
“Forced labor is a violation of basic human rights,” said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “Alongside our government, industry, and civil society partners, the United States is making progress towards the eradication of forced labor while supporting economic fairness, safeguarding human rights, and holding perpetrators accountable.”
