Georgia Poll Worker Arrested for Voting Bomb Threat

The DOJ election threat task force is handling the case.

Just before Election Day, the Department of Justice arrested a disgruntled poll worker for mailing a bomb threat to Georgia election officials. Nicholas Wimbish allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation with a voter on October 16, leading him to write a letter posing as that voter to the Jones County Elections Superintendent.

The Justice Department’s Election Threats Task Force is handling the case with the FBI Atlanta Field Office investigating. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the task force in 2021 “to address threats of violence against election workers, and to ensure that all election workers — whether elected, appointed, or volunteer — are able to do their jobs free from threats and intimidation.”

Wimbish has been charged with four criminal counts for his actions, which could land him a maximum of 25 years in prison.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That Attorney General Garland be led by the Lord in the closing months of the current administration.
  • For Justice Department and FBI officials as they pursue cases against perpetrators of threats against election workers.
