Issue 672 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

President Joe Biden responded to Boeing and the machinists’ union coming to an agreement this week, saying, “This contract is also important for Boeing’s future as a critical part of America’s aerospace sector.“ He commended Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su and National Economic Advisor Lael Brainard for their contribution to the process.

Pray for the president and administration officials as they address issues facing the nation.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida recently sent a letter to National Institutes of Health Director Monica Bertagnolli regarding an NIH-funded study, begun nine years ago by Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy, into the effects of puberty blockers on minors. While some of the study’s findings regarding the mental health outcomes of this transgender therapy were outlined in 2020, Senator Rubio is seeking answers as to why the full results have not been released.

Pray for federal legislators as they seek to ensure that federally-funded research is published.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The House Small Business Committee, chaired by Representative Roger Williams of Texas, has released a report regarding the administration’s failure to recover approximately $200 billion in fraudulent COVID loans. The committee investigated the Small Business Administration for more than a year over the way it handled the emergency financial aid programs during the pandemic.

Pray for members of the House and Senate committees as they seek to hold federal agencies accountable for mishandling or misallocation of funds.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

A district judge ruled that Iowa can continue to challenge the validity of hundreds of ballots from those who are potentially noncitizens. The judge cited the Supreme Court’s decision that allowed Virginia to purge its voter rolls despite the possibility of affecting U.S. citizens.

Pray for federal judges as they consider and issue rulings on election-related cases.
