Can the U.S. rise to the challenge of protecting America’s family system?
At the heart of many divisive political issues is those of marriage and the family unit. This ranges from healthcare options, education and ideology, religious freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, freedom of speech, protecting children online and in daily life, and the basic ability for couple to marry and build a family in a way that they see fit.
For the majority of American history, the federal government, states, religious groups, and culture at large have been locked in a tense battle over the balance of government oversight, religious freedom, the liberty for parents to raise up children the way they best see fit, and the need protect the young minds from those who wish to do them harm.
HOW THEN SHOULD WE PRAY:
- Pray for God’s perfect will to be accomplished through elected officials and through laws that relate to morality and the family structure.
- Pray for those in our government to seek ways to protect and defend the nation’s youth and those who do not yet have a voice.
- Pray for the candidates running for office to turn to God in all ways and seek to act according to His will and not solely in response to social pressure and change.
- Pray for wisdom for parents as they work diligiantly to care for the individual needs of their children and plan for their children’s future.
