Armed Man Arrested Outside Trump Rally in California

Law enforcement has called the incident an assassination attempt, but federal officials are not.

An armed man was arrested on Saturday outside the perimeter of former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Coachella, California. The man reportedly had a fake VIP pass to try to enter the venue.

Authorities stated that the man was illegally in possession of multiple guns and was arrested at a checkpoint. The former president, and current presidential candidate, was not on-site at the time of the arrest. The man was later released on $5,000 bail shortly thereafter.

The Secret Service, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a joint statement, saying, “The U.S. Secretary Service assesses that the incident did not impact protection operations and former President Trump was not in any danger. While no federal arrest has been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secret Service agents and federal officials as they assess the threats to former President Trump and other politicians.
  • For local law enforcement officers as they coordinate security for campaign events.
  • For the safety of the president, vice president, former presidents, presidential candidates, and other public officials.
