Acting Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Lee Satterfield is in Middleburg, Virginia, today. At the Middleburg Film Festival, she is delivering remarks and engaging with industry leaders to highlight film as a diplomatic tool.

The acting under secretary is hosting a delegation of filmmakers from Nigeria and Kenya as part of the American Film Showcase, the Department’s flagship film diplomacy program that connects international filmmakers with leaders from the American film industry. Today, the delegation will headline ‘A Conversation with African Filmmakers,’ highlighting “ the importance of storytelling, the growth of the film industry in Africa, and what the film industry means for local, regional, and global creative economies.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield as she heads the delegation to the Indonesian president’s inauguration.
  • For Acting Under Secretary Satterfield to be discerning as she engages African filmmakers.
  • For the president, vice president, and administration officials to be prudent in their commitments of federal resources.
