Today, President Joe Biden is remaining at the White House to monitor the progress of and damage from Hurricane Milton. The president canceled scheduled international travel to Germany and Angola due to the hurricane.
Milton made landfall as a Category 3 on Florida’s west coast Wednesday evening, with winds of 90 to 120 mph. Power outages began before the hurricane reached land as tropical storm force winds hit the state, with tornadic supercells moving across the southern Florida peninsula. Over a million are without power.
Governor DeSantis said that search and rescue teams would deploy early Thursday morning after the storm had passed and first responders could travel safely.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president, FEMA administrator, and U.S. weather officials as they monitor the storm situation.
- For Florida state and local officials as they oversee rescue and recovery efforts from Helene and Milton.
- For the residents of Florida who are weathering the second hurricane in two weeks.
