Takes ceremonial lap around the course
Over the weekend, President Trump joined millions of NASCAR fans around the nation in viewing the Daytona 500. This trip was a part of his re-election effort leading up to the national vote in less than nine months. Following his trip to Florida, the President will be visiting Phoenix, Las Vegas and Colorado Springs this week.
The president was given the honor of grand marshal for the race, giving the traditional opening command “Gentleman, start your engines.” He then proceeded to get into the presidential limousine for a lap around the track to kick-off the race. “For 500 heart-pounding miles these fierce competitors will chase the checkered flag … and make their play for pure American glory, and that’s what it is, pure American glory,” said the President.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That God would keep the President safe on his travels this week.
- For the Secret Service to protect President Trump as he visits many locations this week.
- For First Lady Melania Trump to be given strength during these travels.
