Issue 665 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Army is purchasing advanced ground systems to update its next-generation combat fleet. The service branch has ordered Bradley Fighting Vehicles via a contract modification worth $440 million. This will include the Bradley A4, which is a durable Armored Brigade Combat vehicle with digitized electronics.

Pray for Secretary Christine Wormuth and Army officials as they pursue the modernization of the armored and infantry brigade teams.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Russia has captured the town of Ukrainsk in the Donetsk region. Ukraine reported that one of its long-range drones destroyed a large stockpile of weapons at a Russian missile depot. Kyiv has requested that the U.S. allow Western-produced and supplied weapons for longer-range missions.

For U.S. leaders to seek God’s direction regarding this nation’s role in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Israel is believed to be behind the explosion of pagers used by Hezbollah, which caused thousands of injuries to those carrying them and killed about a dozen in Lebanon and Syria. The following day, a second-wave attack caused two-way radios and other electronic equipment, including some solar energy systems, to explode. The interruption in Hezbollah communications is anticipated to curtail attacks on northern Israel.

Pray for the U.S. and its allies as they assess support for Israel against Hamas and Hezbollah.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating a salmonella outbreak in the Midwest associated with eggs. Milo’s Poultry Farms and Tony’s Fresh Market issued a voluntary egg recall after illnesses were reported in nine states.

Pray for U.S. health officials as they track and issue alerts about public health and product recalls.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court recently ruled that mail-in ballots without dates or with incorrect dates on the envelopes cannot be counted in the election this fall. The decision overturned a lower court’s ruling that would have accepted them.

The Oregon secretary of state defended a “motor law” which automatically registered over 300 non-citizens as voters. The state secretary’s office called the error “regrettable” but maintained support for the Oregon Motor Voter Program that provides “access to our democracy.”

Pray for state judges, justices, and executive officials as they make decisions that will impact the election this fall.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

The November elections are quickly approaching and… emotions are running high. It’s so easy to express love and hate in a wrong way—especially in the context of an election. What do the Scriptures say you should love and hate? … Keeping our own emotions and our minds tethered to loving what God loves and hating what God hates, especially as you go through an election cycle… it’s good to talk a little bit about what Solomon and the book of Proverbs says. If you exhaust Solomon’s writing on love and hate, as it occurs in the 31 chapters of that Old Testament book, he’s writing to Rehoboam, who would be the next king of Israel. And so it’s quite appropriate and applicable to… take heed… as to what the Word of God and the Holy Spirit might prompt in your heart. … You start, initially, with ‘Love the Lord.‘ … Solomon says, ‘I love those who love Me. And those who diligently seek Me will find Me.‘ So he’s quoting God right there, and he’s saying to Rehoboam, his son, basically if you seek after God, as a political leader, you’re going to find favor with Him. Those who diligently seek God will find Him.“ – Ralph Drollinger, Capitol Ministries Weekend, September 2024
