President and Vice President Meet with Hostage Negotiation Team at White House

The president says Hamas will pay after six hostages found dead.

Over the weekend, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris responded to the recovery of six dead hostages that had been held by Hamas, including American Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

“I am devastated and outraged,“ the president stated. “It is as tragic as it is reprehensible. Make no mistake, Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes. And we will keep working around the clock for a deal to secure the release of the remaining hostages.“

“Hamas is an evil terrorist organization. With these murders, Hamas has even more American blood on its hands,“ Vice President Harris stated. “The threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel—and American citizens in Israel—must be eliminated and Hamas cannot control Gaza.“

She added, “It is long past time for a ceasefire and hostage deal.”

President Biden and Vice President Harris met with their hostage negotiation team in the situation room on Monday to continue discussions about freeing the remaining hostages and a possible ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The administration continues to collaborate with mediators from Qatar and Egypt on a potential agreement.

U.S. policy regarding Israel, the Middle East, and Islamic terrorism are important issues in the presidential election this fall.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for U.S. mediators as they collaborate with officials from Egypt and Qatar on a hostage deal and ceasefire.
  • For the president, vice president, and their advisors to be discerning as they urge Israeli leaders to agree on the deal’s terms.
