FAA Requires Immediate Boeing Inspections After LATAM Flight Drop

The agency issues an Airworthiness Directive, sending inspectors to check certain planes.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)  said that it is requiring inspections of certain Boeing aircraft after another severe mid-flight malfunction aboard a LATAM Airlines flight in March.

During a flight from Australia to New Zealand, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner Aircraft made a sudden midair dive, shaking the plane vigorously. Many passengers were tossed from their seats or struck the roof of the plane as it quickly plunged. The plane managed to correct course and complete its flight safely, but at least 50 people were injured due to the incident. Thirteen were taken to a medical center to have their injuries assessed after the flight.

“The Federal Aviation Administration is issuing an immediately effective Airworthiness Directive (AD) for certain Boeing 787-8, 9, and -10 airplanes,” the FAA stated.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Whitaker to be led by the Lord as he seeks to ensure the safety of air travel.
  • For FAA officials as they oversee investigations into Boeing airliners and the quality operations.
