Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Michele Sison is on travel to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Chile.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said the assistant secretary is meeting with “Salvadoran Vice President Felix Ulloa and Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill, Guatemalan Foreign Minister Carlos Ramiro Martínez, and Chilean Foreign Ministry Secretary General Rodrigo Olsen, as well as UN officials, to reinforce the U.S. commitment to collaborating on common global challenges.“

He added, “Throughout her travel, Assistant Secretary Sison will discuss areas of shared multilateral interest, including the upcoming UN General Assembly High-Level Week, Summit of the Future, peacekeeping, working together to address conflict and crises, supporting humanitarian needs, and creating a more inclusive international system. Discussions will also focus on transnational challenges, including food insecurity and climate change.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Assistant Secretary Sison as she meets with foreign ministers and UN officials regarding global issues.
  • For Secretary of State Blinken to turn to God for direction as he heads U.S. diplomatic efforts.
  • For the president, vice president, and administration officials to be discerning as they partner with other countries.
