Issue 661 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The United States and South Korean militaries are engaging in their annual large-scale joint exercise. The two allies maintain they have updated their defensive drills due to increased threats from North Korea.

Pray for wisdom for U.S. and South Korean military officials as they collaborate on the joint exercises.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Ukraine attacked a Russian oil storage depot with drones, igniting its diesel reserves in a multi-day inferno. The Ukrainian military has also used guided glide bombs to attack a Russian control center in the Kursk region.

For U.S. officials to be discerning as they continue to provide support to Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced a ceasefire agreement this week, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved. The prime minister said that it is up to Hamas to finalize.

Pray for U.S., Israeli, and Middle Eastern officials as they seek Hamas’ agreement to the ceasefire.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has launched a national campaign to inform the public about respiratory viruses and the vaccines that are available to address them. The Risk Less. Do More. messages will focus especially on Americans with higher health risks.

Pray for U.S. health officials to be prudent in their public health messaging and promotions of vaccines.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced that his state is seeking to regain control of millions of acres of public lands. The state has brought a suit before the Supreme Court to try to get the federal government to release the land management of 18.5 million acres, roughly a third of the state’s area.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order that will require the state’s Health and Human Services Commission to report the number of illegal foreign nationals receiving inpatient and emergency care at public hospitals. The state intends to seek reimbursement from the federal government for the healthcare costs of migrants.

Pray for state governors to seek the Lord’s guidance as they pursue policies and endeavor to address issues that impact their residents.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

Is there any kind of love that you can think of that is greater than the love that God has shown us through His Son Jesus Christ? Paul said to the Ephesians, ‘I want you to know that. I want you to perceive that you are the object of that great love.‘ And let me tell you why that’s so important, because you can only love others out of the love you yourself have. … You know, we love people not because it’s natural. We love people, as believers, because God has poured His love into us. And I think of it as this great reservoir. I can’t love others out of my own strength, but because I have inner strength, I can love out of the reservoir of love that He gave me. If God loved me as much as He loves me, knowing what I would do and be, surely out of that love I can love others.– Dr. David Jeremiah, Turning Point, August 2024
