Administration Strike Force on Unfair Pricing Holds Public Meeting

FTC and DOJ partner in discussions on enforcement actions to reduce prices for Americans.

The Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice held and co-hosted an inaugural virtual public meeting of the Strike Force on Unfair and Illegal Pricing (Strike Force) last month. The event highlighted the Strike Force’s efforts to reduce prices for Americans through enforcement actions. FTC Chair Lina Khan and Associate Attorney General Benjamin Mizer opened the discussion. Following the public session, a private discussion on enforcement-related matters was held.

The Strike Force was launched by President Biden in March 2024, during the sixth meeting of the White House Competition Council, to enhance interagency efforts to combat illegal corporate practices that inflate prices for American families. The Strike Force includes members from several federal agencies, including the Departments of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, Transportation, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Chair Khan and members of the FTC as they focus on competitiveness and unfair pricing in the U.S. marketplace.
  • For Associate Attorney General Mizer and members of the Justice Department as they support price reductions through enforcement actions.
