Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian Nichols said Secretary Blinken intended to address the challenges of rising poverty and decreasing productivity in Latin America at the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity convention this week in Washington, D.C.
Pray for the secretary of state and U.S. diplomats as they collaborate on improvements for foreign nations’ economies.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Representatives Matt Gaetz and Jared Moskowitz introduced a resolution to honor Corey Comperatore, who lost his life during the assassination attempt on President Trump on July 13. The former fire department chief died shielding his wife and daughters from gunfire.
Pray for representatives and senators as they commemorate the bravery of those who sacrifice their lives to protects others.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The House Judiciary Committee recently released a report highlighting the attempts by the World Federation of Advertisers to control online speech. The report details the advertising trade association’s coordinated efforts, through its Global Alliance for Responsible Media, to influence the monetization activity of content in digital and broadcast media.
Pray for members of Congressional committees as they provide oversight and investigate infringements of free speech and other violations of the Bill of Rights.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
Federal Judge Ada Brown of the Northern District of Texas has placed a preliminary injunction on the FTC enforcement of a new rule banning non-competes in employment agreements. The judge wrote, “The issue presented is whether the FTC’s ability to promulgate rules concerning unfair methods of competition include the authority to create substantive rules regarding unfair methods of competition.“
Pray for federal judges to be discerning as they hear and decide cases regarding governmental jurisdiction and authority.
