Praying for Our Leaders in Government
Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
Federal Communications Commission Chair Jessica Rosenworcel has drafted a proposal that seeks to strengthen the Emergency Alert System against cyberattacks. Under the proposed rule, radio stations and other communications providers would have to create, update, and implement risk management plans for cybersecurity.
Pray for discernment for the FCC chair and commissioners as they look for ways to protect the Emergency Alert System from cyberattacks.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that $40 million would be invested under the CHIPS and Science Act to make I-90 a “semiconductor superhighway.“ The funding will connect Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse as the NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub that is anticipated to produce 25 percent of U.S.-produced microchips.
Pray for members of the House and Senate as they support domestic semiconductor manufacturing and production.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The House Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, chaired by Representative Carlos Gimenez of Florida, held a hearing this week to examine the Transportation Security Administration’s relationships with U.S. adversaries.
Pray for the chairs and members of Congressional committees as they investigate the actions and affiliations of federal agencies.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case brought by the Free Speech Coalition against a Texas law that requires age verification for online sites that host adult content. The nonprofit is an advocate of the adult entertainment industry that represents adult sites, including PornHub.
Pray for wisdom for the justices of the Supreme Court as they determine which cases to accept for the term that begins in October.
