Today, Secretary of State Antony Blinken will release the 2024 Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP Report) at the State Department with Ambassador-at-Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, Cindy Dyer.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the associated award program, Secretary Blinken and Ambassador Dyer will also recognize the 2024 TIP Report Heroes for their efforts to combat human trafficking.
State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the annual report “represents the world’s most comprehensive resource of anti-trafficking efforts around the globe.“
He continued, “The TIP Report, mandated by the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, exemplifies the United States’ longstanding bipartisan commitment to combating human trafficking. Anti-trafficking stakeholders from around the world – and governments who want to do more – read the report each year to guide and support their work.“
This year’s report is the 24th edition and will include 187 countries and territories in addition to the United States.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the secretary of state and ambassador-at-large as they recognize those who have excelled at combatting human-trafficking.
- For State Department officials to be prudent as they participate in initiatives and programs to address modern human enslavement and trafficking.
- For the president and members of his administration to follow God’s leading to protect human life and liberty.
