Legislators publish interim findings as the investigation continues.
The House Judiciary Committee published a report accusing the Wall Street climate coalition Climate Action 100+ of collusion and bullying other investors into divesting from the fossil fuel industry.
The committee’s majority released its preliminary findings from its ongoing investigation into Climate Action 100+, claiming President Joe Biden’s administration failed to “meaningfully investigate the climate cartel’s collusion, let alone bring enforcement actions against its apparent violations of longstanding U.S. antitrust law.”
The committee’s minority members countered these findings in their co-published rebuttal, maintaining that investors willingly collaborated on a unique framework to create greater competition within the investing industry.
The House Judiciary Committee will continue its investigation into Climate Action 100+ and plans to subpoena a number of investment managers to further its findings.
