The weekend storm system injured close to 300 people and killed 4.
President Joe Biden declared a major disaster in the state of Oklahoma, ordering Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) aid “to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding.“
Governor Kevin Stitt said, “I appreciate the support and quick action from the White House and FEMA in approving Oklahoma’s request for federal disaster assistance in the wake of devastating storms.”
The weekend storms damaged hundreds of homes, over a hundred of which were entirely destroyed.
FEMA stated, “Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.“
Tornadoes from the same storm system also ripped through parts of Nebraska and Kansas.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and FEMA administrator as they assess requests for assistance after severe weather events.
- For the Oklahoma governor and state and local officials as they oversee recovery from the storms.
- For God’s comfort for those who lost loved ones or homes in the natural disaster.
