Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
The Small Business Administration‘s Office of Advocacy has requested more information from the Pentagon regarding updates to its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. There are concerns that the proposed rules for cybersecurity compliance could exclude small businesses from receiving defense contracts.
Pray for officials in both the Small Business Administration and the Defense Department to collaborate on effective security measures for small businesses to obtain government contracts.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senators Joni Ernst of Iowa and Ted Budd of North Carolina sent a letter to the White House requesting information on the ammunition shipment to Israel that the administration paused without notifying Congress. The senators wrote, “You promised your commitment to Israel was ironclad. Pausing much-needed military support to our closest Middle Eastern ally signals otherwise.”
Pray for senators and representatives as they seek to hold the administration accountable for its choices and actions.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The House Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee Oversight and Investigations, chaired by Representative Jen Kiggans of Virginia, heard testimony this week to examine the ideological bias of taxpayer-funded National Public Radio.
Pray for chairs and members of congressional committees as they appropriate and provide oversight for federal funding.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
Over a dozen federal judges will not hire students from Columbia University to clerk for them after the recent antisemitic protests. In the aftermath of the institution’s handling of the anti-Israel demonstrations, they wrote, “Columbia has disqualified itself from educating the future leaders of our country.”
Pray for the judges of the federal judiciary, as they not only hear cases and render decisions but also choose whom they will employ and help advance in their legal careers.
