Secretary Raimondo says child care is an economic issue.
Secretary Gina Raimondo announced that the Commerce Department will co-host the first-ever National Child Care Innovation Summit later this year. The department will co-host the event with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest business organization in the world. Stakeholders from the public and private sectors will be invited to discuss the importance of childcare for working families and how to better incorporate this vital tool into everyday life.
Secretary Raimondo said, “Access to affordable, quality child care is not a social issue – it’s an economic issue. If we’re to train and retain workers for 21st-century jobs, we need to provide them with the economic infrastructure they need to stay in those jobs and care for their families.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Raimondo and other U.S. officials as they prepare for the national child care summit.
- For wisdom for the president and administration officials as they seek options to support employment and the economy.
