The head of the Justice Department testified before a House committee this week.
Attorney General Merrick Garland said he had confidence in President Joe Biden’s mental fitness during a House subcommittee hearing on Tuesday. Earlier this year, special counsel Robert Hur had recommended not prosecuting the president for mishandling classified documents, since he is an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
The attorney general stated, “I have watched [the president] expertly guide meetings of staff and Cabinet members on issues of foreign affairs and military strategy and policy in the incredibly complex world in which we now face and in which he has been decisive in instructions to the staff and decisive in making the decisions necessary to protect the country.”
At 81, President Biden is now the oldest president to hold office in U.S. history. Concerns about his age impacting his mental clarity are being raised ahead of the November presidential election.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Attorney General Garland to be led by God as he oversees the Justice Department.
- For wisdom for U.S. officials as they examine the fitness of the president for his office.
- For President Biden’s health and mental acuity as he heads the Executive Branch.
