Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order this week to increase the focus on women’s health research. The National Institutes of Health reports that there have been large research gaps surrounding menopause, pregnancy, and the way that female bodies process medicine and mental and physical illnesses.
For discernment for the president and health officials as they increase support for women’s health research.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Members of Congress are working to finalize the fiscal year 2024 outstanding appropriations. The remainder of the funding under continuing resolution expires Friday.
Pray for prudence for the legislators in both chambers of Congress as they prepare to vote on funding bills.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The House Oversight and Accountability Committee’s Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs, chaired by Representative James Comer of Kentucky, is holding a hearing titled Accountable Assistance: Reviewing Controls to Prevent Mismanagement of Foreign Aid.
Pray for members of committees as they assess the U.S. government’s foreign policies and results of taxpayer dollars sent to other nations.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The Supreme Court ruled to permit the enforcement of a Texas law that allows the arrest of illegal immigrants. The injunction gives the state the go-ahead to enact the state law, which mirrors current federal law, until the case before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is decided. The appellate court scheduled oral arguments for the following day and reinstituted a block of the law.
Pray for the justices and judges in the federal judiciary to receive God’s guidance as they hear and decide cases of constitutional authority.
